On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the ice and snow held off just long enough for one of New York Times best-selling authors, Pastor Dr. Gary Chapman, to join our community at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church for the Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity's annual Faith Partners Breakfast. The theme of his message was home is where the heart is. "Our community loved him and he helped us make our event special," says Brandon Price, FAHFH CEO.

The 2025 Faith Partners Breakfast presenter was Pastor Dr. Gary Chapman, author of the book The 5 Love Languages.® The 5 Love Languages® is one of Chapman’s most popular titles, has been published in more than 50 languages, sold more than 25 million copies, and has been on the New York Times best-sellers list since 2007.

Every year, we ask our Faith Partners to join us in our mission of “seeking to put God's love into action, as we bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.”

Our Habitat affiliate does this through our four (4) programs: Homeownership program, Critical Home Repairs, Trade Days & Construction Camp, and the Habitat ReStore.

Rain, sleet, snow, and gourmet breakfast brought over a hundred faith partners together to fellowship and share what the community is all about. Whether you give back, show up, or spread the word, support is one common factor Fayettevilleans shared in the Fellowship Hall of Snyder Wednesday morning. "Anything you discover and socially search, if it's really true it will be illustrated in the Bible. Truth never contradicts truth," said Dr. Chapman as he defined each of the five love languages in depth with humor, experience, and love. Dr. Chapman pointed out that love is both the most important and the most confusing word in the English language. We all agreed with the sounds of "mmhmm" from our deep lipless voices to our slow head nod, giving him confirmation that what he said was true. He then connected this idea with John 13:34-35 New Century Version “I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other as I have loved you. All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other.” I'm sure Ms. Lyn Rice, the Facilities Ministry Assistant, from Snyder felt that love as the audience sang Happy 60th Birthday to her in between prayers and the guest speaker's address.

In attendance, making sure the event was still on the day before, Melanie Parker, from Everhome Suites®, mentioned "It absolutely fed my spirit, and I had an abundance of take-aways from the guest speaker, Dr. Chapman." She expressed her sincerest appreciation for Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity immediately following the event. That made our team thankful for Melanie and others like NC Realtor, Tiffany Watson, of LPT Realty, to share that moment with us. Tiffany, who has already registered for our Women's Build, stated "This was such a great event for the community, filled with lots of wisdom, good food, and even better company."

So as you wonder why FAHFH bought a wall to display, it was to show you what's behind the wall and who. We are a force but not one without you all. Thank You for being our Faith Partners. You're always welcome to come "build" with us.

Amongst attendance were Fayetteville City officials, the President of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Nat Robertson, former CEO of FAHFH, Ron Gunter, HIS Radio Fun Patrol, and a host of family and friends.

Ashley R. Thompson, Director of Marketing
