Home Dedication: Welcoming the Hamptons on Canby Lane!

Writer's picture: Fayetteville HabitatFayetteville Habitat

On Friday, July 19, 2023, we had the honor of welcoming the Hampton family into their new home on Canby Lane. Following a prayer led by our CEO, the Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity team presented the family with a bible and flag; students from Douglas Byrd High School's interior design team gifted the Hamptons a wreath they assembled for their homecoming.

Habitat for Humanity homeowners are not just passive recipients; they actively participate in the building process. Potential homeowners meet with our Family Matters Committee and fulfill all requirements of the Homeownership Program. They also complete 200-300 hours of sweat equity, working alongside volunteers to help construct their homes. The Hampton family has gone above and beyond, completing their sweat equity as well as volunteering with us to aid even more deserving families. We truly hope they enjoy their new home.

Dedication Days are a way for us to share our mission, celebrate our new homeowners, and thank our donors and sponsors who make it all possible. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in our community who help us serve others and bring about positive change.
